Here are nine leadership updates Becker's has reported on since July 17:
- Ira Monka, DO, was named the 127th president of the American Osteopathic Association.
- Kevin Lewis, MD, was appointed senior vice president and chief physician executive of Springfield, Ill.-based Hospital Sisters Health System, which has 17 locations across Illinois and Wisconsin.
- Independence Health System, the organization formed by the merger of Butler (Pa.) Health System and Greensburg, Pa.-based Excela Health System, named its next chief medical officer and president of the physician and provider network.
- Wyatt Decker, MD, former CEO of Optum Health, transitioned into the role of chief physician at UnitedHealth Group.
- David Kim, MD, was appointed CEO of MemorialCare Medical Group, which includes Greater Newport Physicians and over 200 outpatient care centers, effective Aug. 21.
- Oscar Marroquin, MD, was named senior vice president of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, president of the UPMC physician services division, and president of University of Pittsburgh Physicians.
- Daniel Miller, MD, PhD, was appointed executive medical officer of EyeCare Partners.
- Amar Desai, MD, was named CEO of Optum Health, a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group's Optum.
- Adrian Park, MD, was named chief surgical officer of Hagerstown, Md.-based Meritus Health.
