From 2018 to 2021, Dr. Brazil allegedly was working as a physician while receiving more than $300,000 in disability payments from Unum Life Insurance Co., according to a March 5 news release from the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
Dr. Brazil allegedly repeatedly lied to the insurance company, denying she had returned to work.
She is charged with four counts of false pretenses, two counts of failure to file taxes and one count of insurance fraud.
