From CEOs to chief medical officers, here are 12 physicians who took on C-suite appointments Becker's reported on in April:

  1. John Corman, MD, was appointed senior vice president and chief clinical officer of Pasadena, Calif.-based Huntington Health, an affiliate of Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai.
  2. Eva Slavcheva, MD, was named chief medical officer of St. David's Georgetown (Texas) Hospital.
  3. Anaeze Offodile, MD, was appointed chief strategy officer of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.
  4. ​​Helen Messier, MD, PhD, was promoted to chief medical officer of Fountain Life, which uses artificial intelligence to improve disease detection and longevity for patients.
  5. Health insurance marketplace Covered California appointed Monica Soni, MD, chief medical officer.
  6. Jason Fish, MD, was named the next CEO of New Haven, Conn.-based Yale Health.
  7. Kenneth Wood, DO, was appointed executive vice president and chief medical officer of Hershey, Pa.-based Penn State Health.
  8. Ana Almeda, MD, was named the inaugural chief medical officer of Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas, which is set to open at the end of 2023.
  9. Miles Varn, MD, was named the inaugural chief medical officer of Sun Life U.S., an international financial services organization.
  10. Andrew Denker, MD, PhD, was appointed chief medical officer of Flamingo Therapeutics, an oncology-focused biotechnology company.
  11. Janet Choi, MD, was named chief medical officer of fertility benefits management company Progyny.
  12. J. Scott Just, MD, was selected as the new CEO of UVA Physicians Group, a nonprofit clinical and administrative support program of Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health.
