Driscoll Children’s Hospital names chief medical officer

Ana Almeda, MD, has been named the inaugural chief medical officer of Driscoll Children’s Hospital Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas, which is set to open at the end of 2023.

Dr. Almeda has practiced as a pediatric intensivist in the South Texas area for almost 15 years, according to an April 11 news release. She most recently served as program director for the transitional year residency program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and as a physician advisor for DHR Health.

As chief medical officer, Dr. Almeda will work to establish graduate medical education and a pediatric residency program at DCH RGV.
