Cigna, Optum among backers of mental health platform Alma in $130M investment round

Alma, a company that helps independent mental healthcare providers build their practices, has raised $130 million in series D funding, which includes investment from Cigna Ventures and Optum Ventures.

New York City-based Alma helps mental health providers by supporting their infrastructure for accepting insurance, teletherapy, automated billing and scheduling, and providing access to a network of similar organizations, according to an Aug. 25 news release.

Over the last year, Alma has grown to support 8,000 providers in every state and has joined Evernorth's behavioral health network.
