The Federal Trade Commission proposed a rule in January that would keep employees free from noncompete contracts, and some physicians are hoping the rule will bring more social stability. 

Parham Jaberi, MD, has been selected as the state of Virginia's interim health commissioner, The Washington Post reported April 4. 

Robert Goldstein, MD, PhD, has been appointed commissioner of the Massachusetts Public Health Department.

Greg Armstrong, MD, has been named chair of the department of epidemiology and cancer control at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

J. Nathan Hagstrom, MD, has been named the new regional director of the Mid-Atlantic region of federally funded hemophilia treatment centers.

Dorothy Lane, MD, has received the 2023 Ronald Davis Special Recognition Award from the American College of Preventive Medicine.

Michael Roehrl, MD, PhD, has been named chief of the department of pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. 

Eugene Lipov, MD, was the recipient of the outstanding achievement in research award from the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians for his research on treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.

J. Scott Just, MD, has been selected as the new CEO of UVA Physicians Group, a nonprofit clinical and administrative support program of Charlottesville, Va.-based UVA Health. 

Joshua Coren, DO, received the 2023 Osteopathic Family Physician of the Year award from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians on March 30 during the Annual Convention and Scientific Seminars.
