Dr. Eugene Lipov receives research award for PTSD and TBI treatments

Eugene Lipov, MD, was the recipient of the outstanding achievement in research award from the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians for his research on treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.

Dr. Lipov received the award after presenting his research — titled "Special Operations Force protocol" — on biological treatments for special forces members with TBI and PTSD at the annual ASIPP conference, according to an April 4 news release.

The research demonstrated the use of ketamine therapy infusions and dual sympathetic reset procedures, with the results showing prolonged reduction of PTSD symptoms such as anxiety, depression and suicidal ideation after one year.

Dr. Lipov currently serves as chief medical officer of Stella, a mental healthcare company using stellate ganglion block to treat PTSD and other trauma.
