Physician pay in the cities with the most, fewest work hours

Scottsdale, Ariz., is the city with the most work hours, while Burlington, Vt., has the fewest, according to a Feb. 27 report on the "Happiest Cities in America" from WalletHub.

The report ranked 180 of the largest cities across the country on three key metrics: emotional and physical well-being, income and employment, and community and environment. 

Here is the average annual compensation for family physicians in the five states with the most and fewest work hours in the United States, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Most work hours

1. Scottsdale, Ariz.: $232,750

T-2. Casper, Wyo.: N/A

T-2. Dallas: $229,850

T-4. Cheyenne, Wyo.: Equal to or greater than $115.00 per hour or $239,200 per year.

T-4. Fayetteville, N.C.: N/A

Fewest work hours

1. Burlington, Vt.: $200,780

2. Huntington, W.Va.: $204,430

3. Tallahassee, Fla.: N/A

4. New Haven, Conn.: $233,640

5. Bridgeport, Conn.: N/A
