9 chief medical officer moves in 4 weeks

Here are nine new chief medical officers Becker's has reported on since July 25:

  1. Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock appointed Karen Farst, MD, chief medical officer.
  2. William Brien, MD, was named chief medical officer of Desert Care Network, a group of hospitals and outpatient clinics operated by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare in California. 
  3. Shawn Dufford, MD, was appointed chief medical officer of Gulfport, Miss.-based Memorial Health System.
  4. Charlie Abraham, MD, was appointed chief medical officer of St. Bernardine Medical Center, a Dignity Health hospital in San Bernardino, Calif.
  5. Philip Heavner, MD, was named chief medical officer of Guthrie Cortland Medical Center in Cortland, N.Y.
  6. Michael Vasconcelles, MD, was appointed chief medical officer of ImmunoGen.
  7. BioXyTran named Leslie Ajayi, MD, PhD, interim chief medical officer and chief of the medical advisory board.
  8. Charisse Sparks, MD, was appointed chief medical officer of Inspire Medical Systems.
  9. Edison, N.J.-based Hackensack Meridian Health named Gregory Rokosz, DO, chief medical officer for Old Bridge (N.J.) Medical Center and Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, N.J.
