Desert Care Network appoints chief medical officer

William Brien, MD, was named chief medical officer of Desert Care Network, a group of hospitals and outpatient clinics operated by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare in California.

Dr. Brien, an orthopedic surgeon, previously served as CMO and chief quality officer for University Hospitals in Cleveland, according to an Aug. 17 news release from Desert Care Network

In his new role, Dr. Brien will lead clinical services and quality improvement initiatives with physicians at Desert Regional Medical Center, JFK Memorial Hospital and Hi-Desert Medical Center, which are located in Palm Springs, Indio and Joshua Tree, Calif., respectively.
