2. Maria Ansari, MD, took on the role of CEO and executive director of the Oakland, Calif.-based Permanente Medical Group and president and CEO of the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. Dr. Ansari is the first woman to lead The Permanente Medical Group, the nation’s largest physician-led health group.
3. Ballad Health reconfigured its chief medical officer structure in efforts to strengthen the system’s physician leadership. The changes affected 10 of the Johnson City, Tenn.-based health system’s facilities.
4. UnitedHealth Group subsidiary Optum Health’s former CEO Wyatt Decker, MD, transitioned into the role of chief physician at UnitedHealth Group.
5. Optum appointed Amar Desai, MD, its CEO.
