3 chief medical officers to know

Here are three recently appointed chief medical officers physicians should know: 

Elham Yousef, MD

Dr. Yousef was appointed chief medical officer of Hackensack Meridian Health's Bayshore Medical Center in Holmdel, N.J. She previously served as vice president of medical affairs and associate chief medical officer, in addition to being an associate professor of medicine, at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Laurel Soot, MD

Dr. Soot was named chief medical officer of Providence Health Plan, the insurance division of Renton, Wash.-based Providence. She is a general surgeon who has spent more than three decades with the health system and previously served as Providence's medical director of breast health.

Gratia Pitcher, MD

Dr. Pitcher was appointed chief medical officer of Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health in January after serving as interim chief medical officer since October. She previously served as chief quality and patient safety officer of the system for over three years.
