VillageMD acquires primary care group Starling Physicians, adds 30 locations

Walgreens-backed VillageMD has continued its expansion into the Northeast through its acquisition of Starling Physicians, a primary care and multispecialty physician group in Connecticut.

Starling Physicians currently operates more than 30 locations across the state, according to a March 3 news release. The group offers primary care and a variety of specialties, including ophthalmology, endocrinology, cardiology and nephrology.

VillageMD oversees 680 practice locations offering primary, multispecialty and urgent care across 26 markets in the United States, including Village Medical, Village Medical at Home, Summit Health and CityMD.

The transaction closed March 1.
