Roseburg, Ore.-based Umpqua Orthopedics will close for patient care Sept. 15, ending more than two decades of orthopedic service in Douglas County, The Roseburg Receiver reported Sept. 11.
The practice announced the closure in a notice to patients; a reason was not provided. Michael Krnacik, MD, will relocate to Bay Area Hospital’s Orthopedic Clinic in Coos Bay, Ore., while Dr. Sandesh Pandit will relocate to the East Coast, with no further details shared about his future practice.
“It has been our great honor and pleasure to provide orthopedic care in Douglas County for the last 21 years,” the physicians wrote in their message to patients.
Umpqua Orthopedics has treated bone, joint, ligament and tendon injuries and provided sports medicine services in the area. Patients with upcoming appointments or questions about transferring records are asked to contact the practice directly.
