Joshua Glauser, DO, a physician at Baptist Health Boca Raton (Fla.) Regional Hospital, must pay $20 million to the family of a patient who died while being treated for acute pancreatitis, Palm Beach Post reported Sept. 14. 

The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., holds the top rank in the world for hospitals in eight out of 12 specialties, according to rankings released by Newsweek.

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare is the largest health system in the U.S. by number of hospitals as well as net patient revenue, according to data from Definitive Healthcare, a healthcare analytics firm. 

Indianapolis-based Elevance Health, formerly ​​Anthem, secured the No. 1 spot of Fortune and Great Place to Work's "40 Best Large Workplaces in Health Care."
