According to court documents, physician Lashondria Simpson-Camp, MD, allegedly referred prescriptions to her twin sister’s two pharmacies in exchange for illegal kickbacks and bribes. Shalondria Simpson, PharmD, is a pharmacist and owner and operator of Advance Pharmacy and TruCare Pharmacy in Houston.
Between 2016 and 2022, Dr. Simpson, Dr. Simpson-Camp, and Shayla Bryant, PharmD – a pharmacist and Advance and TruCare’s business manager – allegedly conspired to submit false and fraudulent claims to the Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Program.
Dr. Simpson’s pharmacies allegedly submitted approximately $170 million in fraudulent claims to the workers’ compensation program, which administers benefits on behalf of the Federal Employees’ Compensation Act,, the report said.
