Lansing, Mich.-based E.W. Sparrow Hospital has named Margaret Dimond, PhD, its new president. 

Harvey Castro, MD, has been named chief clinical operations officer of ViTel Health, a telehealth and patient monitoring services platform provider.

Here are three physician leaders who have announced their resignation since Jan. 3:

Healthcare services organization Avita Care Solutions has appointed Christopher Hall, MD, as its first chief medical officer. 

Physician Dr. Raheel Jiwan, MD, filed a lawsuit against Fairfield, Iowa-based Jefferson County Health Center, alleging he was terminated for raising patient safety complaints, the Southwest Iowa Union reported Feb. 7. 

Richard Makowiec, MD, will take over as chief surgical officer of Synergy Health Partners, a hospital staffing and management company. 

Andrew McNamara, MD, has been selected to serve as the first chief medical officer of Trilogy Health Services, which operates nearly 130 senior living communities in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.

Jordan Berlin, MD, has been appointed director of the division of hematology and oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., effective Jan. 1.

Andrea Manyon, MD, has been appointed chair of the department of family medicine at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo in New York.

New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center performs the most surgeries annually, according to a Jan. 30 report from Definitive Healthcare.
