The county’s previous chief health officer, Travis Gayles, MD, left the position in September 2021, and it has remained unfilled.

There were two candidates for the position previously, but both dropped out of consideration.

Dr. Davis’ physician license expired last month, and she will need to reapply before taking the role. Her previous experience is in health equity.

The County Council will vote on the nomination Nov. 15.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 18–20 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
