He has also held leadership roles at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Dr. Yehia is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and is an expert in HIV medicine and healthcare disparities, according to a press release from Jefferson.
“I am honored to become president of Jefferson Health,” Dr. Yehia said in the Dec. 13 release. “I am excited to return to Philadelphia and look forward to working with Jefferson’s talented team to care for our diverse communities.”
