Dr. Henri Ford named ACS president

Henri Ford, MD, has been named the 104th president of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Ford serves as dean and chief academic officer of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and is an internationally recognized pediatric surgeon, according to an Oct. 23 news release from the university. 

In his presidential address, Dr. Ford said he intends to focus on “achieving our best together” through diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and a multidisciplinary approach to surgical care during his one-year term, which began Oct. 22.
