Dr. Trofa is an alumnus of Columbia’s wrestling program and is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon who specializes in arthroscopic and open surgery of the knee and shoulder, according to a July 5 news release from the university.
He will continue his position as orthopedic surgery chair at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and as a surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.
Dr. Trofa replaces William Levine, MD, who retired from the position after spending 25 years treating Columbia’s student-athletes.
