Here are four physicians who made announcements to move into or out of the CEO role at hospitals and health systems in June, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Michael Wagner, MD, plans to step down as president and CEO of Providence, R.I.-based Care New England and become chair of the system’s board of directors.
2. Omar Lateef, DO, president and CEO of Rush University System for Health and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, plans to retire in June 2027.
3. John Neil, MD, executive vice president, chief physician executive and chief strategy officer of Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth, will become its next CEO, effective March 1, 2027.
4. Patrick O’Shaughnessy, DO, stepped down as president and CEO of Rockville Centre, N.Y.-based Catholic Health.
