3 physician leaders resigning in 2023

Here are three physician leaders who have announced their resignation since Jan. 3:

1. Olevia Pitts, MD, chief medical officer of HCA Midwest Health's Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., left her role to take a senior leadership role outside of the organization.

2. Scott Boston, MD, has resigned from his role as president and CEO of Jacksonville (Ill.) Memorial Hospital. Dr. Boston has served the hospital since 2004 and was the emergency department's medical director before he became CEO in 2019.

3. Don Caruso, MD, president and CEO of Keene, N.H.-based Cheshire Medical Center, will retire in May. Dr. Caruso has served the hospital for three decades and has led it since 2015. During his tenure as CEO, he continued seeing some
