The association was founded as a collaborative effort between members of Midwest Anesthesia Partners in Naperville, Ill., Anesthesia Management Services in Commerce Township, Mich., Mid-Continent Anesthesiology Chartered in Wichita, Kan., and Anesthesia Practice Consultants in Grand Rapids, Mich., according to an April 18 news release.

The association aims to support all medical specialty groups with a focus on those that are often targeted by private equity, such as anesthesiology, orthopedics, radiology and cardiology. The group will provide guidance on topics including contract negotiations and group management.

The AIM will be led by President Marco Fernandez, MD, who serves as president of Midwest Anesthesia Partners.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 18–20 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
