Sean Martin, MD, has been appointed chief medical officer of Oscar Health, the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform.
Dr. Martin has been with Oscar Health since 2016, according to a March 15 news release. Since joining the company, he has provided clinical leadership across a variety of areas, including market performance, population health, behavioral health and medical management.
Dr. Martin has previously served as chief medical officer of health platform Seremedi and CEO of Medifr.
Meanwhile, W. Michael Korn, MD, was named chief medical officer for oncology for medical genetics company Invitae, effective March 13.
Dr. Korn, who specializes in gastrointestinal cancers, will lead the oncology team to enable an integrated portfolio in cancer with an emphasis on somatic testing development, according to a March 16 news release.
Dr. Korn most recently served as chief medical officer for Caris Life Sciences from 2017 to 2022. He also currently holds a faculty position at the University of California San Francisco, where he teaches as a clinical professor in the division of hematology and oncology.
