In the last year, 18% of physicians have made a bad investment, according to Medscapre’s Physician Wealth and Debt Report” published June 12.

Here’s where surveyed physicians said they suffered losses in the last year:

  • Bad investments or stock market: 18%
  • Practice issues (i.e. business problems, reimbursement changes): 10%
  • Job less: 5%
  • Real estate: 4%
  • Legal fees or lawsuit: 3%
  • Divorce: 3%
  • Other: 4%
  • Experienced no significant financial losses in the past year: 63%
