The Center for Advancing Health Policy Through Research officially began at the start of the 2023-24 academic year, according to an Oct. 10 news release. It will be led by Director Andrew Ryan, PhD, a professor of health services, policy and practice.

The center will aim to conduct research on issues of healthcare spending, including Medicare Advantage and private equity, and then use that research to influence health policy at both the national and state level, the release said.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 18–20 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
