Former Optum Health CEO to become UnitedHealth Group chief physician

Optum Health’s former CEO Wyatt Decker, MD, is transitioning into the role of chief physician at UnitedHealth Group.

Dr. Decker announced the transition in a July 19 LinkedIn post. In his new role, he will focus on strengthening UnitedHealth Group’s value-based care capabilities and innovative clinical solutions. 

“On a personal note, it has been a great honor leading Optum Health for nearly five years. Being part of an organization that has matured into a leading national integrated care platform has been one of the greatest experiences in my life,” Dr. Decker said in the post. 

Optum Health recently named Amar Desai, MD, CEO.
