Texas physician joins concierge group

The Medical Clinic of Houston, run by Holly Molnes, MD, an internal medicine physician and geriatrician, has joined the Rockville, N.Y.-based Concierge Choice Physicians network.

According to an April 27 news release, Dr. Holmes’ transition to concierge medicine was driven primarily by a need for more time with her patients, many of whom are balancing multiple chronic conditions.

“This style of practice allows for that,” she said in the release. “I can spend the time necessary to support their best health, addressing concerns in one visit, and making sure my patients feel comfortable with their treatment plans.  It is a much more personalized, connected way to practice, and I’m so grateful for the enthusiasm my new practice has received.”

CCP has seen significant growth in recent years and is one of the largest full-service concierge medical service providers. Earlier in April, Sarasota, Fla.-based Heart Specialists of Sarasota said David Buck, Jr., DO, joined CCP’s Hybrid Choice program.

As reimbursements for physician services continue to fall short of operational costs for many physicians, concierge practices are an increasingly popular solution to the long wait times and insurance delays associated with traditional practice models.
