Two Kansas City, Mo. physicians are launching a new MDVIP-affiliated, membership-based primary care practice focused on prevention and personalized care, according to a Jan. 29 press release.

Nora Gomez, MD, andPaul Hura, MD, will open the membership-based practice Feb. 27. The model is designed to reduce rushed visits and give patients greater continuity with their primary care physician.

Drs. Gomez and Hura have practiced locally since 1999. They said the new practice aims to address challenges with access and fragmented care by creating space for deeper physician-patient relationships.

The practice will offer preventive services, including advanced screenings and wellness programs intended to support long-term health and early detection of medical risks.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
