Here are three workforce trends physicians should keep an eye on:
Job growth in the healthcare sector
Healthcare quietly experienced its most robust job growth this summer since the pandemic recovery, according to a new analysis from Altarum.
Healthcare added 73,000 jobs in July and 70,900 in August 2023. The two-month gain of 143,900 jobs marks the largest since the initial recovery from the COVID-19-induced recession that began in 2020, according to Altarum’s analysis of monthly Bureau of Labor Statistics employment data.
Rage applying
The term “rage applying” debuted on TikTok and describes workers who emotionally apply to numerous jobs at once, primarily due to dissatisfaction with their current job, according to William Vanderbloemen, CEO of Vanderbloemen Search Group.
The four-day workweek
Eighty-one percent of the full-time workforce supports a four-day workweek — and most of them would sacrifice something for it, according to an Aug. 23 survey from Bankrate.
