At least 52 percent of hospitalists reported a family net worth exceeding the national average of $748,800, according to Medscape's "Hospitalist Wealth and Debt Report" released Sept. 5.
Medscape surveyed 10,011 hospitalists across more than 29 specialties from Oct. 7 to Jan. 17.
Here is how hospitalists reported their net worth:
- Less than $500,000: 31 percent
- $500,000 to $999,999: 17 percent
- $1 million to $1.99 million: 22 percent
- $2 million to $5 million: 25 percent
- More than $5 million: 5 percent
