Republican-sponsored Senate Bill 12 aims to protect Kentucky physicians seeking mental health treatment by not requiring them to report participating in wellness programs. It would still require physicians to disclose conditions that could hinder their judgment.

The bill is focused on preventing burnout among Kentucky’s physicians and avoiding additional consequences such as high turnover, lower patient satisfaction and substance abuse.
