Dr. Miriam Hamideh to lead Los Angeles County Psychological Association

Miriam Hamideh, PhD, was elected president of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.

Dr. Hamideh served on the LACPA board of directors from 2005 to 2016 and founded the Psychological Care Institute, an outpatient mental healthcare facility in Westlake Village, Calif., in 2015, according to a Feb. 20 news release from the outpatient clinic.

In her new role, Dr. Hamideh intends to create initiatives to increase awareness of mental health issues and resources and address barriers to care access.
