The center was established in conjunction with DES Health Consulting joining the firm, according to a Feb. 22 release from Chartis. DES Health Consulting focuses on improving retention and safety while reducing burnout at healthcare systems.

The center will be led by psychologist Dan Shapiro, PhD, who most recently served as vice dean of the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pa. He first began treating physicians experiencing burnout at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson in 1995.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 18–20 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
