Best, worst states to work in

CNBC recently released two sets of reports ranking the best and worst states to work in.

The states were ranked based on CNBC‘s 2023 life, health and inclusion scores, which are part of the news outlet’s America’s Top States for Business ranking, and a variety of strengths and weaknesses, including healthcare, crime, worker protection, childcare, air quality and reproductive and voting rights.

  2. Maine
  3. New Jersey
  4. Minnesota
  5. Hawaii
  6. Oregon
  7. Washington
  8. Colorado (tie)
  9. Massachusetts (tie)
  10. Connecticut

Here are the worst states to work in:

  1. Texas
  2. Oklahoma
  3. Louisiana
  4. South Carolina (tie)
  5. Alabama (tie)
