Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls will close around the end of the first quarter, the health system said in a post on its website. The Prevea Health locations will close by April 21.
The health system cited “lingering impacts of the pandemic, the effects of inflation, workforce challenges and other industrywide trends” as reasons for closing. The move ends the health system’s presence in Western Wisconsin.
Most procedures scheduled at Sacred Heart Hospital for after Jan. 22 will be canceled to prepare for closures.
