Physicians’ biggest qualms with Medicaid

Reimbursement is physicians’ biggest issue with Medicaid, according to Medscape‘s “Medicare and Medicaid Report” for 2024.

Medscape surveyed 1,030 physicians across more than 29 specialties from Feb. 1 to March 19.

When asked what the biggest challenge was in dealing with Medicaid, 66% of respondents said reimbursement rates. Another 14% said program rules, 9% answered denied claims, another 9% answered cost of resubmitting claims, while afinal 3% answered other.

Overall, physicians told Medscape that they are seeking more adequate reimbursement in a more timely manner.
