Blake Bulloch, MD, an emergency medicine specialist, was named chief medical officer, while Kelly Kelleher, MD, and Liz Zorn, MD, were tapped as associate chief medical officers, according to an April 11 news release from the health system. Phoenix Children’s created the positions to keep pace with the health system’s expansion, which includes opening two new hospitals this year, to ensure that patients receive quality care at all locations.
Dr. Bulloch succeeds Michael Ritchey, MD, who will retire in December, according to the release. He served in the role for six years.
The system also appointed Ashish Patel, MD, its first physician-in-chief, according to an April 15 news release. In the new role, Dr. Patel leads four of eight clinical centers and oversees hospitalist medicine, mental and behavioral health and Phoenix Children’s Pediatrics practices.
