Sixty-three percent of physicians reported being burned out for 13 months or more, according to a survey published Jan. 27 by Medscape.

Philip Brown, MD, physician at Wilmington, N.C.-based Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, has been let go from his position by the health system, NBC affiliate WECT reported Jan. 25. 

Workplace violence in medicine has skyrocketed since 2020, with 10.4 in 10,000 healthcare workers experiencing nonfatal workplace violence, according to a Jan. 26 report from the American Medical Association.
