According to court documents and statements, Dr. Kachadourian both used and allowed others to use her medical license to purchase medications in exchange for monthly payments of approximately $5,000 from an individual who owned a pharmacy and also owned and operated two businesses that were wholesale distributors of prescription drugs. The drugs were then sold through the two businesses.
Dr. Kachadourian is the third physician to admit their role in this scheme, which ran from October 2016 to January 2019. She received over $170,000 for her participation, according to a May 31 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey. As part of her plea deal, she agreed to pay full restitution for any losses. She will be sentenced next year.
