In its “Medical Student Lifestyle Report 2022,” Medscape surveyed medical students on their expected debt after graduating.

Medscape surveyed 2,182 medical students between April 7 and May 22 on issues such as medical debt, burnout and specialty choice. 

Here’s how much medical debt surveyed medical students expect to have:

Over 300,000: 21 percent

$201,001-$300,000: 14 percent

$200,001-$250,000: 14 percent

$150,001-$200,000: 12 percent

$100,001-$150,000: 9 percent

$50,001-$100,000: 7 percent

Under $50,000: 7 percent

None: 16 percent
