Dr. Brewer will join the second cohort of 63 physicians across the country selected to receive training through a two-year program aiming to increase the diversity of patients in clinical trials. Three other physicians from the Mayo Clinic join her in this cohort. The program is sponsored by the Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation.
Dr. Brewer received her degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and completed her residency at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore. She currently serves as a consultant in the division of preventive cardiology for the department of cardiovascular medicine at the Mayo Clinic.
