From September 2021 to May 2022, Mr. Girault called pharmacies with stolen physician identities and posed as a physician to obtain prescriptions for promethazine and promethazine with codeine, which he then sold on the street for profit, according to a Sept. 15 news release from the Massachusetts Office of the Attorney General.

According to the indictment, Mr. Girault falsified two dozen prescriptions, 11 of which were paid for by Medicaid.
