Healthcare workers saw the largest financial loss from sick time of any career, with the average healthcare worker taking 12 days off due to injury, equating to a $4,354 deduction in yearly pay.
Healthcare practitioners reported 177,650 injury cases last year, according to BLS data. The most common injuries resulting in time off included sprains, strains and tears.
Healthcare diagnostics workers saw a loss of $719.4 million, while registered nurses saw a loss of $347 million.
