Dr. Manazer was fired from the health system in May after serving as an anonymous source for an NBC4 report accusing the Adena Regional Medical Center of allowing a surgeon to perform TAVR cardiac procedures before receiving necessary credentials. Other sources also backed up the misconduct claims.
In the lawsuit, Dr. Manazer also alleged Adena executives asked him to lie about misconduct allegations.
Adena denied the allegations through a press release from its law firms.
