Dr. Manazer was fired from the health system in May after serving as an anonymous source for an NBC4 report accusing the Adena Regional Medical Center of allowing a surgeon to perform TAVR cardiac procedures before receiving necessary credentials. Other sources also backed up the misconduct claims.

In the lawsuit, Dr. Manazer also alleged Adena executives asked him to lie about misconduct allegations.

Adena denied the allegations through a press release from its law firms.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
