The program is now accepting applications, and applicants will be selected in March.

Accepted residents will begin at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy in Omaha. The second half of the residency will be spent at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Neb.
Ninety of Nebraska’s 93 counties are experiencing a healthcare staffing shortage. Thirty-four percent of the state’s population live in rural areas. Both statistics have led to the partnership, according to the publication.
