1. Employed early-career oncologists make $331,924 a year nationwide. 

2. Employed early-career cardiologists make $388,224 a year nationwide. 

3. Self-employed oncologists make $407,283 a year, $80,936 less than self-employed cardiologists ($488,219.) 

4. The top 15 percent of employed cardiologists make about $460,000 a year, while the bottom 13 percent make $320,000. 

5. The top 2 percent of employed oncologists make about $430,000 a year, while the bottom 14 percent make $226,000.
