The insurer added New York City-based Eden Health, Lawrence, Mass.-based On Belay Health Solutions and Chicago-based VillageMD, according to a May 16 news release from Blue Cross Blue Shield. These additions seek to address the primary care physician shortage due to clinicians leaving the field and a rise in patient demand.

Blue Cross Blue Shield members can now access virtual and in-person services through these physician groups, including telehealth, chronic disease care, mental health support and care navigation support, the release said.

At the Becker's 23rd Annual Spine, Orthopedic and Pain Management-Driven ASC + The Future of Spine Conference, taking place June 18–20 in Chicago, spine surgeons, orthopedic leaders and ASC executives will come together to explore minimally invasive techniques, ASC growth strategies and innovations shaping the future of outpatient spine care.
