WalletHub’s “Best and Worst States for Children’s Healthcare” report for 2024 compared all 50 states and Washington, D.C., using 33 metrics to evaluate the cost, quality and ease of access to healthcare for children in each state. Read more on the methodology here.
The rankings were determined using data from sources including the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics and the CDC. Texas, the state with the highest percentage of uninsured children, had eight times more children without insurance than Massachusetts.
